Are you quite bored of winter yet? Tired of the snow, cold and freezing appendages? Can’t wait for spring? Well you can escape the chill a little earlier this year by heading over to the orchid festival at the Royal Botanical Gardens.
Starting on the 7th February and lasting all the way until 8th March, Alluring Orchids will give you a glimpse of spring before the flowers outside start blooming – and don’t worry, it’s quite warm inside!
With a whole month to play with, you’ll have plenty of time to visit the Princess of Wales Conservatory and see all the delightful flowers in bloom.
Not only will you be treated to a visual display of the highest order, you will also learn how and why these wonderful plants evolved through the vibrant flower arrangements on show.
This flowery festival is perfect for anyone interested in horticulture, nature and the biology of plants. You can enter the event as early as 09:30 and it will stay open until 17:30.
While the festival is on, there will also be late-night events on offer including a cocktail bar, musical performances, craft events and botanical talks and tours.
Tickets will cost £15 for adults and £14 for concessions. The closest railway station to the park is Kew Gardens which is on the District Line and Overground Lines.
With the event being in South-west London, our Shaftesbury Hotels are perfectly placed to offer you incredible budget accommodation. In order to see more of what London has to offer, why not make a long weekend of it and explore the city’s many attractions?
