Inbetweeners sequel ‘in planning’

The Inbetweeners co-creator Damon Beesley has confirmed that there are currently plans for a second UK film.

Beesley has revealed a follow-up to 2011’s hit movie is in its early stages but hopes it would see Joe Thomas, James Buckley, Simon Bird and Blake Harrison reprise their roles.

He told The Sun that he didn’t want to give much away but he has been “developing an idea for a sequel’.

The first film, which saw the friends head off on a summer holiday to celebrate leaving school made £45 million at the box office, with a budget of just £3.5 million.

This made it the most successful British comedy film of all time.

Co-creator Iain Morris was asked to confirm Beesley’s comments in the newspaper on Twitter and said: “Yes, but it’s far from signed and like Damon said we want to make sure we have a good enough story to tell.”
