Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds are set to grace the stage of the O2 this year in support of their poignantly titled new album “Chasing Yesterday”.
On Tuesday 10th March, Noel and his boys will look to keep up the momentum from their successful first album and assert themselves as a top act in their own right.
Although many of the tickets have sold out, there are still plenty left in the O2 which has a capacity of 20,000 – it’s certainly going to be a rocking atmosphere.
Expect big hits including The Death of You and Me, AKA… What a Life!, If I Had a Gun.., Dream On and Everybody’s on the Run as well as a number of new tracks from the new album.
Oasis fans will be pleased to hear that Noel and his new band have, in the past, been known to play a few songs from his previous group’s back catalogue. ‘Wonderwall’, ‘Supersonic’, ‘Talk Tonight’ and ‘Half The World Away’ have all featured in sets at some previous High Flying Birds’ gigs but it is probably the anthem ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’ that many of Gallagher’s fans will be hoping to sing along to on the night.
Support will be provided by Black Rivers, a new project from two thirds of the alternative rockers group Doves, ensuring that the gig will be an all-indie affair.
Gigs at the O2 tend to finish at 11:00pm, so to avoid the mad rush from the tube to the train, why not get a hotel and stay the night in London? Our Shaftesbury Hotels are close to all the major transport links so getting to the gig and back won’t be an issue.
Getting to the O2 couldn’t be simpler, just hop on the Jubilee line all the way to North Greenwich and you are basically outside the old Millennium Dome.
