The next installment in the Star Trek movie franchise is set to land in London's IMAX cinema.
Star Trek Into Darkness is the sequel to JJ Abrams first trekky film that was released in 2009 and fans have been eagerly waiting for the next title.
The IMAX cinema in London promises to transform this cinema release into an epic sci-fi adventure that will truly absorb and engage any of the people that fill the theatre's seats.
Fans will have been eagerly-anticipated this release, since it is a completely different take on the original series, featuring many changes that the original crew didn't experience.
Star Trek Into Darkness catches up with the crew of the Enterprise as they uncover an unstoppable force. However, this threat is closer to home and much more difficult to deal with as it appears there is a traitor within the fleet.
Spock is back after watching his home planet be destroyed, along with his mother, in the prequel. He is joined by McCoy, Scotty and of course Captain James T Kirk.
Set in an alternative universe to the original television series it leaves the plot completely open to the whatever Abrams decides, so not even the most loyal of Star Trek fans can know what he has planned next for the franchise.
The series has been generating fans since its debut in the early 1960s but really shot to popularity when Patrick Stewart took on the role of Jean-Luc Picard in "Star Trek the Next Generation".
For this film the Captain must enter a war zone to gain control of a weapon hell-bent on destruction. He will be forced to make sacrifices he never wanted to in order to make sure his ship and crew return home.
Starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Simon Pegg, Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto this next adventure promises to keep audiences on the edge of their seats in cinemas across the country but nowhere will host it quite like the London IMAX
Star Trek Into Darkness at IMAX comes out on May 9th 2013. Times vary and tickets cost between £7.80 and £9.20.
