London is one of the most culturally diverse cities in the world, with attractions that will entertain all ages and abilities, but it is especially fun for children with lots to see and do in and around the capital. Whether you are looking for a trip filled with interactive museum visits or an action packed adventure at one of the fantastic theme parks you are sure to find something to suit your brood.
With so much on offer in London for toddlers through to teens, you simply wouldn’t be able to do the city justice by cramming all your tourist attractions in to one day, so we recommend making a weekend of your visit. Why not treat your loved ones to a family weekend away in the capital and book a superb family room at one of the superior Shaftesbury Hotels? Here are our top tips to travelling with your family.
1. Pack snacks.
There will inevitably be some delays along the way, so be prepared with drinks and fruit or nuts to keep hunger pangs at bay.
2. Wear lots of thin layers.
There is nothing worse than being too hot or too cold, but equally you don’t want to be carrying around bulky coats all day so wear several thin layers and a waterproof that can be easily removed and stuffed into a bag.
3. Use reins.
If you have toddlers don’t run the risk of losing them in a crowd so use reins or a wristband when you are out and about.
4. Stick with bedtime routines.
Regardless of how old your children are, a day in the city will exhaust them, so don’t overdo it and make sure you get back to the hotel at a decent hour to avoid over-tired children.
5. Book your tickets in advance.
This will save you trying to entertain multiple children during lengthy queues when you get there plus you will probably save money too!
